The wife of the Kogi state Deputy Governor, Mrs Tokunbo Awoniyi, has urged the people of the state, especially women, to embrace the  transformation agenda of the governor, Capt. Idris Wada, for more dividends of democracy.
Awoniyi, who stated this yesterday, in a New Year message to the people of the state, expressed optimism that the state would record more progress and development in 2015.

She assured that with a plan of action for women that is all-inclusive and strategic, the Wada administration  would meet the expectations of women in the state to be financially independent.

Awoniyi pointed out that 2015 being an election year holds so much for women, urging them to use their votes wisely by voting the PDP, noting that the policies of the party holds so much for the women.

She commended the positive impact of the Kogi Women Empowerment Network, (KOWEN), the pet project of Kogi state’s first lady, Hajia Halimat Wada, recorded in 2014, and called on the women to show more interest in politics.

While calling on the women in the state to caution their children against election violence, Awoniyi said the youths, as future leaders, must not allow themselves to be used as political thugs in the forth- coming general elections.

She urged the people to live in peace with one another, as development, according to her, can only be attained in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
