Kogi West Zonal Chairmanship Tussle; Putting the Fact of the Matter Straight

It has become very necessary to set the record straight because of the deliberate attempt to misinform the unsuspecting members of the public that the appeal court affirm someone else other than me as the duly appointed Zonal Chairman for Kogi West.

The fact remain that I was duly appointed as the replacement for late Barrister Kola Ojo to serve his tenure out as zonal chairman in line with the constitution of our great party.

Efforts were made by some stakeholders to undermine the process that culminated into my appointment after I have duly resumed office, for no just cause.

I promptly sought the protection from the court, the lower court ruled that the matter is an internal affairs of the party and we should return to the party for an amicable resolution.

I waited a while for the party to intervene but to my greatest surprise, my oppressors took to the media to celebrate an imaginary victory, hence, I returned back to the appeal court to enforce my constitutional right.

The appeal court in her wisdom dismissed my appeal and again emphasised on the need for us to return to the party for an amicable settlement.

As at today, the fact remains that; I am the duly appointed zonal chairman for Kogi West. My appointment has not been terminated nor my letter of appointment withdrawn.

The questions we should be asking are:

  1. Why would any one want to disparage the decision of the state exco of our party who appointed the zonal chairman after following through the required process?
  2. Where were the stakeholders when i was issued a letter of appointment and inaugurated accordingly and functioned for a month ?
  3. Where is fairness, justice in the matter of this appointment and where lies the future of the party when some are treated as blued blooded and given undue advantage over some that the blue blooded perceive as not of noble membership ?

Chief Benson Omofe.
PDP Zonal Chairman,
Kogi West.
