Senator Smart Adeyemi has called on his supporters and party faithfuls to still keep hope alive over the February 23 National Assembly election, said the outcome of the election will be challenged in the court.

Adeyemi dropped the hint on Thursday when he came to campaign at the grand finale of the APC  House of Assembly candidate for Lokoja 1 state constituency, Umar Isah held at Ward C headquarter in Lokoja.

He said his decision to subject the election outcome to legal scrutiny was because of the many discrepancies witnessed at the poll, stressing that he knows he will reclaim his mandate at the tribunal.

Adeyemi called on his supporters and party faithful to see the announcement of the result as a temporary set back, urged them to keep hope alive and be law abiding as they approach the court in a couple of days to retrieve the stolen mandate.

Adeyemi said there were many alterations, cancellation, bogus and unreconcilable figures among many anomalies that can not be easily wished away, “It’s a temporary setback. That is why there are processes. For instance, if you feel that you were cheated or the collation was wrong, you have recourse to the courts. I did not fail.

“I believe strongly that there must have been some wrong collation somewhere. Those things will be corrected. We have processes in the election. As far as there is a mistake anywhere, you go to court and get your mandate. My mandate is stolen but will be retrieve for me.”

He however charged the people of Lokoja, Kogi West and the state in general to come out and vote massively for the APC in Saturday assembly election, said APC candidates are the best to carry the voice of the people at the state assembly.

“I therefore enjoin all to please go and cast your vote on Saturday for Isa Umar in the overall interest of our people. With best regards. I’ve known him close to 30 years now. He was my junior at the Secondary school and I can attest to his knowledge and capabilities.

“APC is the only party that goes in line with the common man’s dream and it can only get better and better with APC and APC alone.”
