The Forum of Ward Chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area have passed a unanimous vote of no confidence on Senator Sunday Karimi, who represents Kogi West senatorial district, citing actions they claim are capable of destabilising the party.
In a press statement issued on Thursday, the fifteen-member forum accused Senator Karimi of undermining party leadership and promoting anti-party activities across the state chapter.
The forum alleged that the Senator, sponsored and financed shadowy groups, reportedly led by one Ozovehe, who is actively engaged in spreading misinformation and attacking party leadership.

“These actions have the capacity to erode public confidence in the APC and create disaffection within the party,” the statement read.

The Senator was also accused of orchestrating continuous media attacks against the party’s state structure and promoting narratives intended to create divisions between the federal and state governments.
The ward chairmen claimed that despite over two years in office, Senator Karimi has failed to establish a functional constituency office, limiting constituents’ access to representation.
The forum further alleged that Senator Karimi is maintaining clandestine ties with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), his former political party, as a “fallback platform” ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to the ward chairmen, proxy groups linked to the Senator have conducted campaigns against Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and other party leaders, while Karimi has distanced himself from grassroots structures that helped secure his 2023 election victory.
Following deliberations, the forum resolved to pass a vote of no confidence on Senator Karimi, withdraw recognition and support for him as a candidate in the 2027 general elections, and urged the APC national leadership to take disciplinary action to safeguard party unity and credibility.
The Forum concluded by reaffirming its commitment to strengthening the APC at the grassroots level and upholding the party’s values of discipline, loyalty, and progressive governance.
