A political advocate from Kogi West, Pastor Stanley Ajileye, has called on stakeholders in the district to remain focused on what he described as the immediate political priority, the Tinubu-Karimi Project, while maintaining long term aspirations for the 2027 governorship.
In a statement titled “Kogi West 2027: A Resolute March, A Strategic Now,” Ajileye reaffirmed that the district’s quest to produce the next governor of Kogi State in 2027 remains “non negotiable,” noting that the agitation has spanned over a decade and a half.
According to him, the demand is not merely political but rooted in sustained advocacy, sacrifice, and a shared sense of purpose among the people of Kogi West.

Ajileye, however, cautioned against distractions and premature political maneuvering, warning that “political jobbers and merchants of distraction” could attempt to derail the movement if stakeholders lose focus.
He stressed that, for now, priority must be given to the re-election of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the continued mandate of Steve Sunday Karimi, describing both as critical to ensuring political stability and sustained influence for the district.
He also urged members of the All Progressives Congress to remain united, emphasizing the need for cohesion, loyalty, and collective effort ahead of forthcoming elections.
While acknowledging that various groups may seek endorsements and political alignments ahead of 2027, Ajileye maintained that the ultimate decision would rest on popular support and collective resolve at the appropriate time.
“The Kogi governorship election is still months away, but preparation is already underway, with strategies being refined and alliances being built,” he said.
He concluded by urging continuous grassroots mobilisation, warning supporters not to be distracted from the current political objective.
Ajileye said the Tinubu-Karimi Project remains the immediate pursuit and a collective responsibility that must not be compromised, adding that Kogi West is determined not only to participate in the 2027 contest but to emerge victorious.
