Youth numbering over a hundred, on Monday, marched round the city capital urging Barr. Tunde Irukera to run the Senate election in 2019.
The youth, under the auspices of Lokoja Youths Want Irukera for Senate, marching round major streets, said the march would be held simultaneously across the West Senatorial District, in the first week of 2018.
The spokesman of the group, Usman Idris Idu, said they have found in Irukera all the qualities needed for a worthy representative in the Senate.
Usman urged people of the West to see the aspiration of Irukera as one that will help position Kogi West in good light, with employment generation as key factor that is motivating the youths of the West.
The Youths said after the rally in January, a letter would be transmitted to Irukera urging him to consider the several calls on him to run.
The spokesperson also hinted that the group is also fasting and praying to ensure that Barr Irukera accept the call to run.
