A socio-political group, Kogi West Youth Alliance (KWYA) has called on Honorable Asiwaju Idris Asiru, the present Commissioner for Finance in Kogi state, to come and rescue the district from the present situation faced at the moment.
In a statement released to the press in Kabba on Monday, the group Coordinator, Engr. Abejide Folusho, said they are proud of the good works of Asiwaju and particularly impressed with his efforts to better the lives of his people.
“We are calling on Honourable Asiru Asiwaju to come and help rescue Kogi West senatorial district from the poor representation that we are witnessing at the moment.
“It is not in doubt that Alhaji Asiwaju Asiru Idris has performed creditably well as the Kogi State Commissioner for Finance and a loyal member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Kogi State. We are proud of his contributions to education, community development and human empowerment across Kogi West. Indeed, he is the man of this generation.
“We hereby call on him to offer himself for the service of his people by contesting the 2019 Kogi west senatorial election. We know he is a statesman and a strong believer in Kogi’s unity.
“Honorable Asiwaju Idris Asiru is the most prepared Kogi West political leader living today and we as a group are looking forward for an opportunity to turn around this great district,” said Abejide.
Abejide believed the successes Asiwaju recorded in the banking sector and as a serving commissioner will in no wise come to bear on the floor of the Senate if given the opportunity.
