Tony Wilson and Ali Siaka’s two goals each and a goal each from Jamilu Rilwanu and Rasaq Alao gave Kogi Utd FC a convincing 6-0 victory over Lazio Football Academy on Monday.


It was one of tune-up games for Kogi Utd in preparing for the new National League season.

The friendly match was played at the Gateway International Stadium, Sagamu, Ogun State. The Chief Coach, Fatai Osho ringed his line-up from the team that played 1-1 draw with Premier league side, Crown FC on Sunday in Ijebu-Ode.

The new line-up ensured the coach meant well as they opened the interesting encounter with a 2min tap-in goal from Jamilu Rilwanu.

Ali Siaka blasted in a shot from Sanusi Pedro’s cross to make it 2-0 in the 23rd minutes, and Tony Wilson’s 40th minutes goal took the game beyond the reach of Lazio, to finish the 1st half with 3-0 score line.

3 minutes into second half, Wilson scored his 2nd goal of the game, 4th for Kogi United.

A long range shot from Rasaq Alao went past Lazio keeper in the 53rd minutes to make 5-0, and Ali Siaka also scored his second goal of the match, and last for Kogi United to make it 6-0 against the boys from Lagos.

The result means the Wada Boys are yet to lose a match since they begin with preparation for the upcoming National League season.

However, they will face a strong test on Monday afternoon in another Grade-A friendly with Sunshine Stars of Akure at Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu-Ode by 4pm.
