The story of criminality in Kogi state is endless, those who cannot buy common akara (beans cake) for them selves to eat before now, are presently owners of property worth millions in Kogi and outside the state.

The 21 chief administrators appointed by Alhaji Yahaya Bello (AYB) to preside over the affairs of the councils are now THIEVES ADMINISTRATORS. Some of those who are not fit to even work as clerks in the Local Government Council.

But if I may ask, where are the Kogi whistle blowers?

Despite the severe hardship the Kogi workers are made to face by the in action of government, the local government area councils are not helping matters also. Initially, we were made to understand that the governor is only giving them money for pure water as allocations, with some of them even claiming that the alert of the local government account is linked to Edward Onoja’s Account. They claimed that they are under lock and key by the state government, but from their display of affluence and the high rate of assets acquisition ongoing by these council rats, one is forced to have a rethink and probe further into their activities, and it’s now fully established that these boys are complete rogues.

The state government is not starving them as claimed, they have some reasonable level of financial autonomy, money is made available for them to do projects, but they are hiding under the guise of maladministration in Kogi state to loot the treasury red.

It’s high time the state government make it public, what the various thieves have received from the state government in their 12months as illegal occupants of our councils, and it will shock you all to know how reckless these boys are.

It may interest the good people of Kogi to know that government allocations to LGAs is not only meant for salaries of workers, part of the common wealth is for the development of the grassroots, It is meant for provision of amenities like, qualitative primary school education, provision of potable drinking water for the people, building of markets stalls, construction of motor parks, public toilets, rural roads, purchasing of tractors for farmers and agro-allied chemicals, but can any of these boys point at any of the aforementioned?

Don’t forget also that they collect security votes in millions and yet they cannot provide security for our lives and properties. Just to provide fuel for police patrol vehicles, none of them is ready to part with the money, to serve the purpose it was meant for. Every day on Ajegu-Idah road there must be robbery operation or kidnapping, for those of us using the route. The security report is that, the road is not safe as from 7:pm every night. Just on Friday 5th of May, hoodlums attacked several vehicles and left passengers with various degree of injuries after robbing them of various cash sums and other belongings. This was confirmed to me by a police officer on the same road at about 6:20pm on Saturday 6th may 2017, on my way out.

Look at them, instead of complementing the efforts of the state government in clearing the bush by the road sides, in their various LGAs in a bid to drive away men of underworld from the road, which is same work currently on going on state government roads in Kogi, and it’s seriously helping the people. Those of you who have visited the state capital (Lokoja) recently can testify to this fact. That singular action has reduced the rate of attack on our roads.
But these uninformed class are busy stealing and competing within themselves, what an unhealthy competition?
