Engr. Mathew Olatunde Ajigi has called on the people of Kogi state to remain committed to the unity and progress of the state.
Ajigi made the call in Lokoja on Monday when he feted friends and well-wishers on his birthday.
The Kabba-born businessman cum politician stated that Kogi state will overcome its current challenges.
He bemoaned the inability of successive governments in the state to harness the huge human and natural resources in the state, noting that Kogi indigenes are contributing immensely to the development of others states in the country.
Ajigi noted that Kogi state is richly blessed with talented and well-read scholars who have made tremendous marks in their various fields. He called on the leadership at all levels in the state to tap into the knowledge gold-mine that the Kogi indigenes are known for all over the world.
He stated that though oil wells may dry up one day and other mineral deposits may become valueless but the knowledge gold mine as represented by Kogi intelligentsia will sustain the state beyond present times.
