A community-based group, Gbeleko Citizens United (GCU),Registered has expressed gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for his courage and determination in fulfilling the age-long desires of the people of Okunland on having an institution of higher learning on their soil.
The group said Gbeleko, community is a direct beneficiary of the newly established Kogi State University, Kabba, Kogi state, . It was a moment of good news to them as the information filters in with the subsequent approval of the institution by the Nigeria Universities Commission (NUC) to operate as the 62nd State owned University in Nigeria with joy.
This was contained in an appreciation letter signed by the Chairman of Gbeleko Citizens United, Engr. Sabo Raph .
According to the letter, the people of Gbeleko community in Kabba .
noted with nostalgia the good intention of Governor Yahaya Bello to leave indelible marks before completing his tenure in early 2024, stressing that he has written his name in gold with this singular act that will be forever be remembered by the people of the community with the attendant of enormous socio-economic transformation the institution will bring to the area. They commend the Governor and Government of Kogi state for the speed at which the pursuit was archieved within the shortest possible time .
“On behalf of the good people of Gbeleko community, we wish to register our sincere and special appreciations to Governor Yahaya Bello for this kind gesture of a state owned university,” the letter read.
