Kogi State Police Undergo Intensive Shooting Range Training

As part of the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Abubakar’s program to enhance the police force through training and re-training of officers, the Kogi State Police Command as under gone an intensive 2 week shooting range training in Lokoja, the state capital.

The State Commissioner of Police, Sai’du Madawaki, told journalists at the venue of the shooting range that the exercise is aimed at testing the competency and the accuracy of the personnel, so as to avoid accidental discharge.

Madawaki further stated that the exercise, which is meant for all police personnel in the state command, is done periodically to re-energiss the police force, maintaining that the training will go a long way to help the police.

The training of personnel is to give the officers the opportunity to be acquainted with new strategies of combating cases of insecurity and terrorism in Nigeria.
