Today, our dear Kogi State marks 34 years of existence since its creation in 1991. As a proud son of the state and currently serving as the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Private Education Institutions, I, Hon. Engr. Clement Daudu, join millions of Kogites in celebrating this remarkable milestone.
Looking back, one cannot but appreciate the efforts of our past leaders who, in their own times, laid different foundations and contributed to the growth of our beloved state. Their sacrifices and service form the building blocks upon which we continue to stand tall.
I must particularly extol the visionary leadership of our immediate past Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello (CON), who gave Kogi State its very first Development Plan (2024–2056). For the first time in our history, Kogi State was provided with a long term roadmap for progress, a masterstroke that has redefined governance from short term politics to sustainable growth.
Today, our working Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has demonstrated true leadership by not only sustaining this vision but also passionately implementing it with renewed energy. He is a Governor of continuity, one who values progress above politics, and his commitment to the Kogi State Development Plan 2024–2056 is already bearing fruits across all sectors.
For me, this is a proud moment because Kogi State now has a future that is guided, structured, and well planned. We have moved from chance to choice, from politics to purpose, from short term projects to sustainable development.
As we celebrate 34 years of Kogi State, let us rededicate ourselves to unity, peace, and collective progress. Indeed, the Confluence State is rising, and the future is brighter than ever.
Happy 34th Anniversary to our dear Kogi State.
Hon. Engr. Clement Daudu
Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Private Education Institutions.
