The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Mathew Kolawole has urged its members to put more emphasis on oversight function.
While welcoming his colleagues from the two weeks break, Hon Kolawole stressed that having refreshed for two weeks, all should be set for the task ahead.
Kolawole made this known at the plenary on Tuesday.
“The bills at the disposal of the House for deliberation should be diligently worked on for effective legislation and impact on the people which we consider must be our urgent task”, he said.
The Speaker opined that the present situation now in the state should be their collective responsibility, adding that round table discussion should be the option for the way forward.
