The Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly and member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, Rt. Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole and the forum of GYB Appointees in Kabba/Bunu Local Government Area have donated one 500kva transformers to Egbeda ward and 300kva to Otu ward respectively.
Speaking at the brief presentation ceremony on behalf of the team, Hon. Chief Julius Arokoyo commended the people for their resilience to continue to cooperate and support the current administration in the state, noting that this is one of the opportunity to show them that the administration cares for them.
He said as responsible and responsive representatives of the people, they decided to put together resources under the leadership of the Speaker, Rt Hon Kolawole and the State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara (rtd), Hon Kehinde Oloruntiba, Commissioner for Agric and Hon Moses Olorunleke, Administrator of Kabba/Bunu LGA to ameliorate the suffering of the people especially as regards electricity supply to the affected communities.
According to him, the Speaker and the GYB team in the local government are working together for the benefit of the people, stressing that more tangible projects would be executed across all wards in Kabba/Bunu.
He urged the people to continue to support Governor Yahaya Bello and the APC led government in the country in order to reposition the nation for the betterment of all.
Receiving the transformer on behalf of Otu ward communities, His Royal Highness, Oba Michael Ibinaiye, the Obajemu of Oweland, commended the kind gesture of the Speaker and the appointees to have come to rescue the community from darkness.
According to him, the swiftness with which they responded to the need of the people shows that they really love and care for them.
The royal father who was highly elated with the gesture used the opportunity to commend and appreciate Governor Yahaya Bello who deemed it fit to appoint credible individuals from the local government to work with him, stressing that without credible people like the team, the community might still be in darkness.
He also commended the Speaker for providing qualitative leadership at the Assembly, promising that the people would continue to support the new direction administration in order to collectively move the community and state forward.
Oba of Egbeda, His Royal Highness, Oba Odofin Olojo was also very happy to receive the transformer on behalf of his community, noting that the community is overwhelmed by the gesture.
He said the response of the team to their plight at this time of their need has further shown their credibility as true representatives of the people, which is a clear departure from what they used to have in the past.
He promised on behalf of the community that they will make judicious use of the transformer.
Some of the residents who spoke at the presentation commended the GYB team, pledging their loyalty to the new direction administration for their support so far.
Highlight of the program was the presentation of the two transformers to the various communities.
