Call on security agencies to intensify efforts on surveillance

Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Matthew Kolawole has condemned in strong terms the killing of 19 people and destruction of properties in Tawari community in Kogi Local Government Area of the state.

The Speaker said it is barbaric and satanic for persons to deliberately snuff life out of his fellow humans, stressing that there is no justification for such condemnable acts.

He said those behind the heinous attacks cannot go unpunished by God, noting that the attackers have invoked the anger of the Almighty God on themselves and their generation, having carried out the attack at a time everyone is looking forward to a better year ahead.

He said it is a known fact that the current administration under the able leadership of Governor Yahaya Bello does not joke with the security and life of the people hence the perpetrators will soon meet their waterloo.

He charged the security agents in the country to focus more on Kogi State, especially border communities, pointing out that the state is bordered by more than ten states hence the need for increased surveillance in the State.

He sympathize and commiserates with the families of those that lost their loved ones in the attack, Governor Yahaya Bello, the member representing Kogi State Constituency, Hon Tanko Mohammed, the Administrator of Kogi Local Government, the traditional institutions in the area over the callous killing of the 19 people including the Imam and APC chairman in the Ward, praying that God shall expose those behind the heinous attacks.

He said the 7th assembly will work with relevant agencies to make stiffer laws for offenders of such abominable crimes in the State.
