Kogi Speaker Condemns Attack on Tao FM Radio Station

The Speaker to the Kogi State House of Assembly, Momoh Jimoh Lawal has condemned Monday bombing of TAO FM which led to the death of five people.

The Speaker who visited the Radio Station to commiserate with the management and staff decried the act and said it was sad and frightening.

Also condemning the attack, the Senator -elect in the area, Senator Mohammed Ohiare called on security agents to go all out to fish out the culprits.

Ohiare said attacking a media house and killing its innocent staff was alien to Ebira culture and urged the State Government to do something to arrest the ugly trend.

The cause of the bombing was not immediately known but investigations revealed that there have been series of killings in Ebira land of recent times.

Sources say the killings may have been fuelled by a group of unidentified Islamic Fundamentalists and Clannish Jingoists in the area.

Meanwhile, no arrest has so far been made over the bombing .

It will be recalled that there was pandemonium monday evening in Okene, Kogi state when gun men sneaked into a community Radio Station TAO FM and bombed the station killing five of their staff.

It was gathered that the bomber entered the premises of the radio station at about 7:30 pm pretending to come for commercial purpose and were allowed inside by the security guard.

It was further gathered after gaining access to the building they moved straight to the operation room and threw explosive inside the building killing five people on duty .
