The Kogi State Social Investment Programme (Kogi-SIP) has conducted a 2-Day training for its staff on ethical conducts as part of capacity building for its personnel across the state.
The two-day training which started on Monday September 7 and ended on Tuesday September 8, 2020, was organized by Kogi State Office of the National Social Investment Programme (NSIP) in Collaboration with the Center for Ethics And Self Value Orientation (CESVO) at the Glass House, Government House, Lokoja.
The Chief Facilitator of the programme and the Executive Director of the Organization, Prince Musa Salih Yakubu, said the training had equipped the participants with the wherewithal for optimum performance.
He added that the participants were expected to abide by standard ethics in the discharge of their duty to Kogi citizens.
In his closing remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Special Projects and the Focal Person, Kogi Social Investment Programme, Hon (Prince) Abdulkareem Onyekehi Suleiman, commended the CESVO team for their professional training delivery.
The focal person urged the trainees to ensure that the knowledge gained from the training reflect in their official duties considering the sensitivity of the Social Investment Programme.
He described the training which focused on Ethical Conducts of public officials for transparency and accountability to be informative and educating, noting that it had reshaped the mindset of NSIP officials for effective management of the programmes.
Hon. Onyekehi further recount the recent feats by the Kogi SIP office under his leadership as the focal person, saying it was unprecedented.
He commended the Kogi State Governor for providing a conducive working environment for effective service delivery.
“Kogi State Social Investment Office which was earlier rated as one of the 12 most organized and ethically responsible NSIP States in Nigeria,
”The State NSIP under my supervision has also been honoured as the best NSIP State Office in Nigeria by the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as well as forum of Media Group at the recent occasion of one year anniversary of the ministry”, he said.
Hon. Onyekehi, however dedicated the award to the entire management and staff of the office for their commitment to work.
Besides the certificates of participation issued to the trainees, some selected participants were awarded with additional certificates by CESVO for their ‘character and good conducts’ throughout the the course of the training.
