Kogi Rainstorm: Senator Ogembe Donates Relief Materials to Victims

The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatoral district, Ahmed Ogembe, on Friday donated relief materials worth millions of naira to victims whose houses and other properties were destroyed by a rainstorm in Okehi and Ajaokuta Local Government Area of the state.
The senator, who was represented by his Senior Legislative Assistant, Mr Aloysius Okino, said the gesture was to assist the victims by  providing relief items to serve as palliative measures pending the intervention  of relevant agencies.
In his remarks, Ogembe said the relief materials are for victims in Eganyi, Ihima and Eika district being the affected areas in the central senatorial district.
“Items distributed include: 100 bags of rice, 100 bundles of roofing sheets, 100 bags of nails, 200 blankets, 100 mattresses, 300 wax print clothes, 200 mats, 50 cartons of soap and 30 cartons of tin tomatoes, among others,” he said.
One of the beneficiaries in Eganyi area Mallam Zakaria Sanni appreciated the senator’s efforts to cushioning their sufferings and called on those in position of authority to emulate his good deeds.
Also at Eika and Ihima districts, beneficiaries were full of appreciation and commended the senator for keeping to his word.
Mr Suleiman Aliyu from Eika, said: Senator Ogembe promised to help us and he has fulfilled his promise; we are grateful to him.
