The management and staff of Kogi State Polytechnic has commiserated with Governor Yahaya Bello over the transition of the Paramount Ruler of Igala Kingdom and President, Kogi State Council of Chiefs, His Royal Majesty, Attah Igala, Michael Idakwo Ameh Oboni II.

In a condolence letter signed by the Acting Rector, Dr Salisu Ogbo Usman, the institution also commiserated with the Kogi State Council of Traditional Rulers, the Igala Kingdom, the Ayegba Om’ Idoko House, the immediate family of His Royal Majesty, all Igala sons and daughters, associates and well-wishers of the Igala kingdom, on the transition of the Monarch.

The letter reads:

“Indeed, in the demise of His Royal Majesty, the Igala Kingdom and the State as a whole have surely missed the wise counsel, fatherly disposition and rallying point of unity which he epitomised throughout his reign.

“Even in my deepest sadness, I recall with nostalgia, his fatherly counsel and commitment to the unity of the State which was visibly on display in his heart moving words during my courtesy call on him shortly after my appointment as Acting Rector.

“His Royal Majesty, on that occasion, sternly advised me to eschew all forms of sentiment in all my dealings, and his words have remained a reference for all decisions I make.

“While I will sorely miss the invaluable pillar his physical presence offered, I am consoled by the immortality of his words.

“It is my prayer and that of the institution that God in His infinite mercy grant His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, the State Council of Traditional Rulers, the Igala Kingdom, family, associates and well-wishers of His Royal Majesty the fortitude to bear the heavy loss.

“Once again, hearty commiseration from Kogi State Polytechnic to the Government, the good people of Kogi State and the Igala Kingdom on this moment of sorrow.”
