The Executive Chairman of Kogi State Mineral Resources Development Agency, Hajiya Hassiat Ozavize Suleiman has described the people of Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area, as politically refined people who refused to be swayed by emotions in the choice of leaders.
Hajiya Hassiat who has immediately embarked on a door-to-door thank you visit to her supporters in Ihima expressed satisfaction with the staggering 36,954 votes garnered from Okehi LGA by Governor Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just concluded gubernatorial election.
“What happened was a sincere show of love and acceptance by my people for the good work our Governor, his Deputy, Chief Edward Onoja and all members of his cabinet have done in the last four years.
“The New Direction administration has laid a solid foundation for prosperous Kogi State by ridding the system of its inherent corruption in civil service, nepotism and ethnic patronage. It is time to build on the foundation and the vibrant and energetic Governor is ready to do more as we move to the next level of transformation,” she assured.
She specially commended Hon. Commissioner for Water Resources, Barr. Deedat Salami Ozigi, Okehi LGA Administrator, Hon Abdulraheem Ohiare, Director-General, Kogi State Bureau of Information Services and Grassroots Sensitisation, Mall. Abdulkarim Abdulmalik and others for sincerity of purpose in the build up to the election.
She further noted that all appointees from the Local Government Area were bound by a common purpose which translated to the hitch free election and eventual victory of Governor Yahaya Bello at the poll.
“The confidence you reposed on our great party and the Governor will be guided jealously as we begin another phase in our political history,” she assured.
