Kogi state government has queried the Ohimege Igu of Kotonkarfe, HRM, Abdulrazaq Isah Koto over the death of a female supporter of All Progressives Congress (APC) before the November governorship election in the state.
The female APC supporter, Khadijat Yahaya, was killed in front of his palace in October during the campaign rally of the governorship candidate of Social Democratic Party (SDP), Murtala Yakubu Ajaka, in Kotonkarfe.
While the SDP claimed Khadijat was one of the thugs that attacked their campaign, the APC said she was killed by Ajaka supporters during their party walk in the town.
But in a twist of event, the state government has now queried the Ohimege for allowing such ugly development to have happened at his front yard.
The query stated that the Ohimege’s action or inaction caused a security breach in his domain and so he must respond immediately.
Though the Ohimege did not openly commented about the query, but palace source said the traditional ruler had already made official his response to the state government query.
“Even the Sultan of Sokoto and some other prominent personalities have been informed about the development and are already wading into the issue,” the source stated.
The source, however, stressed that the query wrapped around the APC women supporter was just a decoy as they have been informed ahead that the governor perceived that the Ohimege did not show open support for the governor’s candidate, Usman Ododo in the just concluded governorship election.
