The Northern Youth Council of Nigeria has conferred the ‘Garkuwan Matasan Arewa’ award on Kogi State Police Commissioner Wilson Inalegwu.
According to the youth organization, “CP Inalegwu is not just a mentor and a role model, but a personality with integrity and unique hallmark, which will for a very long time define the phrase – a light at the end of the tunnel.
The group described Inalegwu as an icon, a colossus, an indefatigable team player and a natural representative of the youth generation. According to them, he has given so many years of exceptional leadership building the nation.
“The contributions to the development of the Nigerian society through his visionary leadership drive, professionalism, unclouded treatment of all and sundry and his absolute humility has remained unchallenged, both in the public and private endeavour.
“CP Wilson has not doubt achieved a lot in nation building, community development, youth empowerment, integrity focused leadership, education development, quality assurance as well as mentorship. His greatest achievement however, are evident in the people who have successfully achieved greatness through his mentorship.
“Inalegwu is the ultimate symbol of a true Nigeria where unity and love, integrity and fairness, compassion and brotherhood take a sit at the high table,” they said.
“The Police Chief has worked with people from different work of life without any form of biased treatment, which have therefore merited him this very important honour.
CP Wilson Inalegwu thanked the youth organization for finding him worthy of this award. He urged them to be good ambassador of the youths and to live without indulging themselves in criminal activities.
He urged them to collaborate with the police and other security agencies in ensuring that criminal elements are not allowed to operate in the state. He charged them to sharpen their power of observation and to report any suspicious objects or movement around their areas.
