The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dekina division, has formed a committee to probe allegations of financial misappropriation totaling ₦19 million during the tenure of the suspended party chairman, Alhaji Husseini Ibrahim Ejini.
In a statement released to journalists, the party announced that the committee, led by Chief John Odawn, the pioneer state chairman of the party, will investigate the accusations against the former divisional chairman, Alhaji Husseini Ibrahim Ejini.
Husseini, facing indefinite suspension, is accused of misappropriating ₦19 million from the party’s account and issuing threats to members.
He is also alleged to have engaged in anti-party activities during the November 2023 gubernatorial election.
The suspension, effective January 21, 2024, was communicated in a letter from PDP officials in Dekina LGA, expressing a vote of no confidence in the embattled chairman.
The party is reportedly undergoing a purification process to position itself as a significant opposition force in the state.
The PDP Local Government Working Committee in Dekina cited Husseini’s disrespect for established party protocols and institutions as grounds for his suspension.
The full list of committee members will be officially announced before the week ends.
