Alhaji Funsho Ganiyu Ibrahim (a.k.a Azuri) has won the Yagba East Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) sole ticket to contest in the forthcoming Local Government Elections in Kogi State.
Azuri, the candidate of Billionaire god-father, Bashorun Jide Omokore and his cohorts defeated the candidates of immediate past Commissioner for Agriculture in the State, Hon. T.J. Faniyi and former house of assembly member, Hon. Ganiyu Salaudeen (a.k.a Erukutu Yagba).
Hon. T.J. Faniyi deployed his political machinery for Hon. Sunday Ipinyemi while Erukutu threw his weight behind the well loved Chief J.S. Adeyemi.
In a closely contested election, Azuri had 36 votes, just six to defeat his closest contender, Hon. Ipinyemi who polled 30 votes. Chief J.S Adeyemi had 12 delegate votes.
