A man claiming to be on official assignment from ‘Abuja’ was last Saturday arrested at the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secretariat, Lokoja.
Claiming to be a policeman, he was arrested and taken away by officers from the state force headquarters.
Eagle-eyed policemen had accosted the man, following which a search of the vehicle he came in with another accomplice was searched, leading to the discovery of the arms and other assorted charms.
From the outcome of the PDP state assembly primaries, the Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket to contest for the Okene II state constituency.
Other serving lawmakers in the state that emerged victorious at Saturday’s PDP primaries included the Chief Whip, Hon. Sulaimon Babadoko.
An aide to Senator Smart Adeyemi, Ade Omofaye emerged from Ijumu state constituency.
Hon. Nathaniel Taiwo (Kabba-Bunu), was however upstaged by Prince Kolawole Samuel.
Others that emerged included Muhammed Haruna (Ajaokuta) Local Government Constituency, Eric Fiki (Mopamoro), Hon. Ali Akuh (Omala).
Results are still being expected for Ofu and Adavi local government areas among other.
