The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kogi State chapter, has made a heartfelt appeal to its members who joined the agitation for ethnic agenda during the recently concluded Kogi State governorship election to return to the party.

In a statement issued by Alhaji Tijani Aruwa, the state Publicity Secretary, the PDP emphasized that now is the time to rebuild the most structured and largest political party in the state. The party is keen on uniting all opposition forces to effectively challenge the ruling party.

The PDP also called on leaders of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) across all 21 local governments to join them, asserting that the path to displacing the ruling party lies in a united and strong opposition, which can only be achieved under the leadership of the PDP.

Furthermore, the party cautioned those who left the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the SDP against returning to what they termed “their vomit.” The PDP described the ruling APC as a cartel of a few individuals focused solely on promoting their personal interests. They criticized APC policies as being anti-people, stating that the current hardships faced by the citizens of Kogi State are a direct result of failed APC policies.

The party spokesperson indicated that arrangements are underway for a smooth reconciliation process with aggrieved members following the recent state congress. The PDP is committed to avoiding any media confrontations that could jeopardize the ongoing reconciliation efforts led by Enemona Anyebe and his leadership team.

The PDP characterized its recent congress as free and fair, acknowledging that complaints are a natural part of the democratic process. They urged aggrieved members to utilize internal mechanisms for resolving disputes, emphasizing that the people of Kogi are looking to the PDP as the only viable alternative to rescue the state.
