Kogi PDP in Fresh Crisis over Composition of Transition Committee

The newly inaugurated kogi state transition committee to give direction to the newly led Captain Idris Wada administration has been faced with series of crisis as stake holders from the three senatorial districts have engaged the leadership of the committee  in a verbal war over non inclusion of believed supporters of the party.

Some of the stake holders who were not included in the five man each from the 21 local governments  of the state have accused the leadership of the committee whom they alleged misinformed the governor on the criteria used for the selection.

The aggrieved stake holders who last Monday  stormed the conference room popularly called glass house within government house chanting war songs alleging the composition as not reflecting the contributions of the members to the success of Wada /Awoniyi campaign Organisation.

It was learnt that it was the intervention of security agents that saved the situation from degenerating into a fisticuffs as a member of the House of Assembly representing the youths and a leader from the Eastern senatorial district  allegedly  attacked  the secretary of the committee for his previous roles in mis-advising  the  governor.

The House Member who was allegedly instrumental to the emergence of Wada as PDP gubernatorial candidate and subsequent success at the poll accused the secretary a former deputy chief of staff in the presidency Prince Olusola Akanmode of being responsible for the non inclusion of his supporters and others that were not in his good book.

The source said the House member told Akanmode “I know your antecedent in fanning ember of confusion in PDP. That was what you did that you defect to ACN the other time.  Now that you are back you have started again trying to cause confusion” he charged.

The source hinted that Akanmode had retorted, “if what I have been doing to the prospect of the party is what you called bad advise so be it. But let me tell you that those my actions have been beneficial to me and the party.” he replied.

Our source further gathered that the central zone comprising of five local governments have protested the domination of the slot for the zone in the committee by the members believed to be returnees to the party they were erstwhile members of Action Congress of Nigeria. They vowed not to allow those they called vultures to usurp their chances saying that they were determined to fight back using political means.

Registering their grievances over side lining the stake holders from Ijumu local government of the state equally kicked against the list from the area.

In a press release signed by the spokesman Hon. Fehinti Dada and made available to newsmen in Lokoja kicked against the government continuous fraternity with the former Commissioner of Finance Hon. Abiodun Ojo calling him a hole in the administration of the past government.

The Group alleges that the antecedent of the former commissioner was all about himself without considering the general good of the people of the area.

The release noted that the former commissioner who  was reputed for his harems and owning scores of filling stations was said to have been feeding fat on the back of the local government who  should not be allowed to remain in the committee.
