Kogi State chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Hassan Salau has said that the party has not anointed candidates in the forthcoming general elections in the state.
Salau who stated this at the weekend in Lokoja during the ward delegates election in the state, said the party leadership has created a level playing ground for all the contestants in the state.
“We are not going to advise any aspirant to withdraw for anybody. Let them slug it out so that the people’s choice emerges at the end to fly the flag of the party during the forthcoming general elections.
Chairman of the party’s electoral panel in the state, Chief Maxwell Okudo, described the ward delegates congress in the state as successful.
Chief Maxwell who led four other members of the electoral panel to Kogi State said the materials meant for the exercise were distributed accordingly without rancor.
“We will continue to monitor the exercise till the following day,” he said.
