The People Democratic Party in Kogi State has accused the Independent Electoral Commission of bias in the just concluded Assembly election saying where the PDP was clearly winning, INEC collaborated with the All Progressive Conclusive to say elections in those places were inconclusive

Addressing newsmen in Lokoja yesterday, the chairman of the party Hassan Salau said the five constituencies where INEC declared as inconclusive were won by the PDP.

Sources said INEC had declared the Assembly election with the PDP winning 12 seats, APC 7, 5 inclusive while election did not hold in one constituency. But INEC in a Radio announcement denied of releasing such results.

The PDP Chairman however, denied that thugs loyal to the PDP caused mayhem and disrupted elections in some parts of the eastern flank of the state.

He said rather ,his party and its teeming supporters were victims of violence allegedly perpetrated by thugs loyal to APC, explaining further that the opposition disrupted elections where things were not going their way.

The PDP chieftain further added that it was base on the antics of APC that INEC rendered results in areas where they were leading like Ofu, Dekina, Ajaokuta, Kogi and Lokoja 11 constituencies inconclusive.

He maintained that the opposition deliberately disrupted elections where they were poised to win, wondering how the issue of fake electoral materials, thumb printing and stuffing of ballot boxes came about in Dekina, when the process was completely devoid of any hitch.

He equally accused the Electoral umpire of giving undue advantage to APC in places where they were clearly ahead like Lokoja 11,saying the PDP candidate ought to have been declared winner.

The PDP chairman therefore enjoined INEC to speedily conduct election in areas declared by the commission as inconclusive,to enable the electorates elect their representatives.

He also commended the teeming supporters for their resilience, despite intimidation from the opposition, even as he assured that they would challenge the results of Ankpa 1 and Ankpa 11, Olamaboro and Okene 1 constituencies which he noted, were characterized with irregularities in court.
