Hon. Ahmed Mohamed, last Saturday, pulled the storm as he led over one thousand Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members from Ankpa district to dump the party for the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The defectors were received by the ward chairman of APC, Hon. Kamilu Abdullahi, the member representing Ankpa 2 state constituency, Hon. Rabiu Ishaka Alfa, Alhaji Ibrahim Linco Ocheje, Alh. Seidu Odoma, and other leaders present who expressed gladness at the number of eminent persons who had joined the party.
Speaking on behalf of other defectors at his ward and party secretariat, Honorable Ahmed Mohammed said they decided to join the APC for three major reasons, The crisis In the party (PDP) which has made the party split to factions, the unity of the APC both at the state and Federal level, and to have a political platform which will serve as a drive to deliver the dividend of democracy to my people. This is why we have abandoned PDP to join APC, the moving train. All of us have joined the APC with over 1000 supporters from the PDP”.
Speaking to one of the leaders who pleaded anonymity, he said PDP has long been dead and the only person keeping it alive, sustaining and maintaining it in Ankpa LGA is Ahmed Ahmed. You can see the heavy weights he led to Okenyi today, this is the end of PDP in Ankpa.
Alhaji Ibrahim Linco welcomed Hon. Ahmed Mohamed and commend him for his laudable projects so far and encourage him to do more, he charged him to be a party man he is well known for in the PDP and replicate same with the APC.
