- Describes honour as second to none
Kogi State council of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has described the award conferred on Comrade Onuh Edoka as well deserved.
State Chairman of the NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari while speaking with our reporter, said Comrade Edoka has proven himself as a labour guru who has distinguished himself in the labour movement.
He noted that the award by the Michael Imodu National Institute of Labour Studies (MINILS), Ilorin did not come as a surprise following the achievements recorded as a two time chairman of NLC in Kogi state and a leader of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria.
Comrade Amari also commended the leadership of Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria for its genuine recommendation which culminated in the fellow award on Comrade Edoka.
“We the organized labour in Kogi State are proud to be identified with this great honour which is first of its kind in the history of Kogi State. This honour on our leader and immediate past chairman is coming at a time that is most deserving, considering the positive impacts of Comrade Edoka in the labour circle, both in Kogi State and Nigeria at large”.
On behalf of the organized labour in Kogi State, the Kogi NLC boss felicitated with Comrade Edoka and his family, the Medical and Health Workers Union and entire workers on the highest award.
Comrade Amari urged other labour leaders to see the important award as an encouragement, saying that there is always reward for hard work.
While advising Comrade Edoka to do more towards the growth and development of the labour, Amari equally prayed for God’s guidance and courage on the path of the labour guru in the period ahead.
