Kogi Medical Students Express Gratitude to Gov. Bello for Scholarship Fees

The pioneer medical students of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, Kogi State, have extend their heartfelt appreciation to Governor Yahaya Bello for his unwavering commitment to their education and future.

Relaying the message from the medical students to the governor on Friday, their representative, Anthony Edogbo said “under the governor’s visionary leadership upon emergence as Governor of Kogi state, a committee was formed, which included the management of our institution. This committee worked tirelessly to address the accreditation issues faced by our medical school, ensuring that our academic journey would not be hindered any further, the committee resolved to transfer us to other accredited institutions within the country while teaching hospital undergoes upgrade.

“Governor Bello’s resolute dedication to our cause led to a decision that we, the pioneer medical students, be transferred to other esteemed institutions: Ebonyi State University, Usmanu Danfodio University, and Kaduna State University. This remarkable move not only allowed us to continue our studies without delay but also provided us with an invaluable opportunity to experience different academic environments and gain diverse perspectives.

“Furthermore, Governor Bello went above and beyond by placing us on scholarships worth millions of naira per student. This generous act of support eased the financial burden that often accompanies pursuing a medical education and empowered us to focus solely on our studies.

“It is with immense gratitude that we acknowledge Governor Bello’s vision and commitment to investing in the future of healthcare in Kogi State.

“We are delighted to announce that Governor Bello has once again exemplified his dedication to our success. Recently, he released millions of naira to settle all outstanding school fees of medical students on scholarship. This act of financial support ensures that we can fully concentrate on our final year of studies, undeterred by any financial constraints. Governor Bello’s unyielding support has not only elevated our spirits but has also demonstrated his unwavering commitment to fostering a brighter future for the medical profession in Kogi State.

“As we approach the culmination of our medical education, we, the pioneer medical students of Prince Abubakar Audu University, wish to express our profound gratitude to Governor Yahaya Bello for his instrumental role in resolving the accreditation challenges that hindered our progress.

“We thank Governor Bello for his visionary leadership, which resulted in our seamless transition to respected institutions and the provision of scholarships that eased our financial burdens.

“We extend our deepest appreciation also to the secretary to the state government, Dr Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike, the Vice Chancellor of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Professor Tenushe Marietu, the CMD of Prince Abubakar Audu Teaching Hospital, Prof. Akogu Simon Peterside, the former Vice Chancellor of PAAU Professor Mohammed Sanni Abdulkadir, the Provost of the college of medicine, staff and management of PAAU.
