The mass retrenchment of workers embarked on by all the local government areas in Kogi State at this critical time of global and national unemployment is a serious drawback to the state’s economic growth and human development. In fact, it is an incentive to crime. First, it was the teachers that were systematically sacked before graduating to the staffers of the local governments. That action undermines good governance.
