Comrade Murtala Samad Ahmed has officially declared his intention to vie for the Ugwolawo councillor seat in Ofu local government council.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Murtala said he has been nursing the ambition for many years and feel it is time to serve his people.
Murtala, a committed card-carrying member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who laboured with other supporters to ensure the party emerge victorious in Kogi state in 2015 and in subsequent elections, promised to represent Ugwolawo with fear of God, integrity and ensuring transparency.
“I am well civilised, exposed, connected, friendly and welcoming. I have been nursing this ambition for many years now and with God, all things are possible.
“My aim is to bring together Ugwolawo sons and daughters, both home and in the diaspora, under one umbrella to move Ugwolawo higher with our collective efforts.
“My mission is to use my exposure, civilization, experience and connection to bring all what Ugwolawo have been lacking for some years now because Ugwolawo is seriously lagging behind in the comity of towns and local government headquarters in the state,” he said.
Comrade Murtala called on all sons and daughters of Ugwolawo to see themselves as brothers and sisters.
He pledged to bring love, tranquility and development back to Ugwolawo town and Ugwolawo ward one in general.
