We made bold to say that the ‘alternative’ person in the form of Chief Jimoh S. Adeyemi is only fronting for the defunct former House of Assembly member, Ganiyu Salaudeen. The choice of Adeyemi is a reflection of the extremist, conservative and unpopular elements of the LGA against the teeming demands of the Progressive who has pitch tent with Gadaffi.
Secondly, Adeyemi a 68 years old man, with a Grade 11 certificate can not at this hour isolates himself from the action, inaction and decision taken during the tenure of Kayode Obaaro whom he served as the Vice Chairman. Trying to diffuse himself from the administration many are still savoring its bitter pills is a demonstration of an idle mind, a coward and ill- manner person. He should embrace the understanding that he is much guilty wherever Kayode Obaaro is guilty. The past administration failure or success (if any) is an outright functionality of Obaaro and Adeyemi himself. And if he failed administratively as he want people to know we then wonder what he want now – probably to plunged the LG further down the road of mishap.
As much as we encourage him to speak out that they have failed the LG during their tenure, he should be courageous enough as a man to at least admits his failure or keep quite and bury his head shame as an alternative.
Delegates are not won by mouth or rhetorical speeches, we await the time when the popularity and acceptability of the various candidates will be tested at the primary. Then will the boys be separated from the men. Until then, let those who wishes to cry foul of their misdeeds through the back door choose the part of honour and embrace the sanctity of doing so quietly.
Though we know that Adeyemi is a mere errand boy of someone lost in the wilderness of sorrow, but they should be man enough to commend when necessary and condemn when deem fit. Or how can be argue their case that the screening exercise conducted by Gadaffi is unpopular. Only coward will go against the choice of the screening exercise hailed by all and sundry who wished the LG well.
It is no longer secret that Gadaffi has successfully steps on toes of the CABALS milking the economy of Yagba- East LGA for the past ten years through sharp economic practices, ungodly certificate racketing and misdemeanor employment through the screening exercise, so we expect them to fight back; after all, they are fulfilling the axiom that ‘when you fight corruption, corruption and all his offspring we fight back.
