LG Boss Calls for Heightened Security Vigil Ahead of Kogi Guber Polls

The Administrator of Kogi local government area of Kogi state, Barrister Muhammed Musa Tanko, on Wednesday, called for heightened vigil in the state ahead of November 16th governorship election.

Tanko made the call at a security review meeting in the council secretariat. The Administrator chaired the meeting.

He ask security personnel to maintain heightened surveillance on all fronts to avoid security breaches by law breakers. He harped on the need to ensure protection of lives before, during and after the governorship poll.

The meeting which had in attendance senior council officials, supervisors, security chiefs such as police, Army, civil defense, immigration, correction service officer, DSS, FRSC, traditional rulers and other critical agencies participated.

“After obtaining security – wise assessments of the prevailing security situation and arising challenges Administrator  emphasized the crucial importance of maintaining a sustained close watch on the ground situation, and appreciated the sustained real time coordination and synergy between the security forces.

“Considering the pattern of attempts to disturb law and order in the past few days Administrator especially stressed the need of a heightened vigil and ensuring the safety of persons and the security of all important establishments and installations in the area,” he said.
