In a move to boost livestock productivity, resilience, and the commercialization of selected livestock value chains, the Kogi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support Project (L-PRES) has continued to gain momentum while continuing with it sensitization campaign in the central senatorial district.
The State Project Coordinator (SPC), Dr. Olufemi Bolarin while addressing stakeholders at Okene, the headquarters of Okene LGA of the state, emphasized on the importance of the ongoing sensitization exercise in fostering understanding, promoting collaboration, and harnessing the enormous opportunities in the project.
Dr. Bolarin, who hinted that the project will soon commence profiling of livestock farmers in Kogi State, said his message is to appeal to all livestock farmers to embrace the project by ensuring that they are profiled.
“We have come to develop and transform the livestock sector. To qualify as a beneficiary, you must have livestock either on a small, medium, or large scale,” he stated.
As part of the sensitization exercise, the team also visited Okene abattoir for an on-the-spot assessment and to determine areas of intervention particularly the installation of 10,000-litre solar-powered borehole intervention which is part of the approved activities to be carried out before the end of the year.
