Senator Dino Melaye the Convener of KOYA Movement, a movement with it sole aim of removing Governor Yahaya Bello, was believed to be among the strong forces that supported the Governor when the All Progressive Congress (APC) National Leadership nominated him (Bello) as the replacement for its late flag-bearer, Prince Abubakar Audu, who died while coasting home to victory in the November 21, 2015 governorship election.

Indeed, Senator Dino served as the Chairman of the transition committee that worked out the modalities for a hitch-free handing over of power to Gov. Bello and his eventual inauguration in January 27, 2016.

The number one enemy of Gov. Bello today who is claiming he’s fighting for the masses, Sen Dino Melaye also served as the Master of Ceremony for the inauguration of Governor Bello, which held at main bowl of the Confluence Stadium, Lokoja.

Dino who now want Gov. Bello out of Lugard House did not hide his support for the Governor elect then when he told the mammoth crowd of dignitaries and well-wishers that turned out for the inauguration ceremony that “Kogi people voted for Audu but God voted for Bello”. Dino Melaye went on that day to urge the people of Kogi to give their support and cooperation to the new government which he said was “divinely orchestrated”.  Same government he’s fighting today for reasons best known to him.

Same Dino Melaye has his loyalist given key appointment under this government of Gov. Yahaya Bello. We all know one of the genesis of Gov. Bello and Sen Dino fight was the appointment of Alhaji Taofiq Isah as Ijumu LGA Administrator, which Dino claim do not align with the power rotation in Ijumu.

If things had not fallen out between the duo, would there be anything called KOYA Movement? Would Sen Dino be fighting Gov. Bello if they had abide to his bidding?

In Kogi today, we see hypocrites, gold diggers, cyber criminals etc all using the poor masses as the tool for enriching themselves and in pursuing their selfish interest.

Apart from removing and fighting Gov. Bello of Kogi State, what are the aims and objective of the KOYA Movement? What plans do the movement have on ground in bringing development to Kogi if they succeed in removing Gov. Bello?

It is fact that those championing the so called KOYA Movement are same with those who brought Gov. Yahaya Bello upon us, telling us that he is God’s sent. Who can then fight God’s own?

We can’t allow them to keep deceiving us. Kogi State deserve sincere leaders. Enough is enough. We don’t need anyone to pose as our liberator, we can stand for ourselves and defend what’s right in making a unified collective choice that will better our state.

God bless Kogi State.
