The adage; a black goat is better captured in the day time goes apparently to justify the necessity for urgent precautionary measures to reclaim Igala land from desperate blood sucking vampires, otherwise known as Fulani herdsmen.
Words cannot express the spree of onslaught in our land and the number of harmless souls wasted so far. The people sees death coming daily but can neither confront nor escape, as they watch helplessly how machete demonstrates in fizzling lives out of them. The worst if not abominable has happened. The common peace, unity, love and tolerance among Igalas have been chartered.
Life nowadays is unpredictable; one morning to a beautiful sunshine, and another, to a horrifying scream of death. There is misery in our eyes. Uncertainty and despair in our heart. Our people are enduring untold hardship, pain torture and hunger in the midst of plenty. The spirit of our ancestors is restless, and the land calls for fortification.
Unfortunately, nothing has been done to champion the course of the people. The government has failed. Security operatives are under pressure. The plight of a common man in Igala land had been traded for political interest. The people wallows endlessly in the pool of their own blood. The tendency of having a place to call our own in future is not certain, and guess what, souls have been sent packing.
By the pull of a trigger – Children are been orphaned. Wife are been widowed and thousands are been displaced.
THIS IS A SACRED CALL.
On great sons and daughters from Igala kingdom.
To heed to the cries of humanity in land.
To save the people from Fulani terrorist.
To salvage our land from total ruination. The cry of one is the cry of all.
No matter how far and wide the bird flies, it must return to the nest at sunset.
Kogi is our land of birth unto which we must return someday.
We cannot fold our hands and wash what is rightfully ours been taken away by some hooligans.
We cannot fold our hands and watch the labours of our forefathers in vain. The saying goes, that the greatest legacy is not the wealth and riches one acquires, but the lives whose face a penny can put across, an everlasting smile.
Let us rise early, BEFORE THE COCK FINALLY CROWS and question injustice been perpetrated against the land. Let us see this as a privilege to restore the integrity of our land. Igala nation is a convener of love and peace, and such as the heinous act is a common deterrent.
Our beautiful land of birth. A land of unknown beginnings and infinite end. A land where hills and valley nestles in wedlock of heritage. We must make hay while the sun still shines, so that ours will not be a history. Governor YAHAYA BELLO has failed us but we cannot afford to succumb to this misery.
So that, BEFORE THE COCK FINALLY CROWS, (our land been taken away) let us rise against this plagues inflicted by myopic, sycophantic and mistaken identities of a government in our state.
Great sons and daughters of our land, great heroes of our time, associations and NGOs, Religious and non religious bodies, families and individuals, together, we can achieve this. Let us rise in defense BEFORE THE COCK FINALLY CROWS. (Please pardon my manners for not including those in authorities particularly the traditional rulers, because they are part of our problems). God Bless Kogi state. God Bless Igala land and may God continue to console irreparable losses in Dekina, Omala and Bassa local government areas.
– John Paul frowns at injustice and corruption.
