The Chief Press Secretary to the Kogi State Governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo has stated that an uncommon trend of revolution is going on in Kogi State which will re-position the State and set her on the path to true greatness and social responsibility.

Addressing newsmen in Ilorin recently, Fanwo said critics of the Yahaya Bello administration are people who had fed fat on filthy lucre and are ready to frustrate the ongoing processes aimed at ensuring the resources of the state are used for the common good of a good percentage of the populace.

According to the him, the Governor has remained unwaveringly focused on his inalienable determination to surgically purge the state of termites who see the commonwealth of the people as the resources of a few.

“Kogi now has a Governor who is not just mouthing corruption. Governor Yahaya Bello has shown his determination to kill corruption before corruption kills the state.

“The revelations emanating from the ongoing staff screening exercise across the state is an indication of the fact that with a common will, Kogi can cage corruption and free the finances of the state from cankerworms who are enemies of the people.

“Leadership is not always about the man at the apex. People at different levels of leadership must learn to be transparent when they hold positions of trust.

“It has now become crystal clear that the main bane behind the inability to pay salaries is the overloading and top-loading of the civil service by ghost workers who syphon the commonwealth of the Kogi people without contributing anything to her wealth.

“Governor Yahaya Bello has the support of the Kogi people to root out corruption and set the path for a glorious transformation through a new direction.

“The sponsored outcry on social media sponsored by corrupt mongers with humongous filthy lucre, will not dissuade the Governor from serving the Kogi people and placing the general interest of the people above pecuniary interests.

“The State Government is working hard everyday to give the citizenry quality life. Never has a government been so committed to service and the rule of law than now. If successful governments had been this committed, we won’t be where we are today.

“Over 40,000 entrepreneurs were to benefit from the MSME CBN loan which was granted last March. As we speak, the disbursement didn’t follow due process. The Governor has ordered full investigations into the issue. If Kogi must pay loans back, Kogites deserve to know those who benefitted from the disbursement that was done without application nor bank transactions.

“Where infractions are noticed, Governor Yahaya Bello will not hesitate to act in accordance with the law. But he won’t act outside the law, due process and respect for the principle of innocence before guilt pronouncement. The improved salaries for civil servants in the state and the Local Government financial autonomy have shown the integrity of the present administration. There are better days ahead”.

The Chief Press Secretary also confirmed the solid relationship between the administration and the leadership of the of the party, saying the Governor respects the supremacy of the party in line with his determination to make future elections easy for the party through performance and impact on the people of the state.

He also told newsmen that the Governor is effectively networking with security agencies to ensure security of life and properties in the state.
