About 183 indigenes who are performing this year’s Holy pilgrimage to Jerusalem from Kogi State have been tasked to work towards protecting the integrity of the nation.
They were equally charged to ignore all forms of misconduct, bitterness, acrimony and bigotry.
Yomi Awoniyi, Kogi State Deputy Governor gave the admonition at a one day orientation seminar for year 2012 Christian pilgrimage organized by the State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Deputy Governor pointed out that religion emphasize peace, love and other holy virtues, said the State Government’s expectation is for harmony and understanding to reign supreme among all pilgrims.
In his speech, Executive Secretary, Christian Pilgrimage Board, Egwuda Sunday said the theme of this year’s pilgrimage, ‘Spiritual Transformation and Moral Rebirth’ is aimed at mind renewal for those performing the pilgrimage towards assisting in the transformation agenda of the state government.
He added that the seminar is geared towards helping pilgrims understand the rules and regulations for a successful pilgrimage.
