Kogi State High Court of Justice yesterday said it had commenced its 2016 annual leave putting on hold normal court sittings.

A statement signed by Yahaya Adamu, Chief Registrar of the state High Court of Justice and made available to LEADERSHIP said the annual vacation started on August 1.

Adamu said that the leave was pursuant to Order 9, Rule (4)(2) of the High Court (Civil Procedure Rules), 2006, “under the hand of the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice Nasiru Ajanah, (CON).”

He said that the vacation would end on Friday 16th September, while normal Court sittings will commence on Monday, September 19.

The Chief Registrar hinted that Justice Yunusa Musa of the state High Court IV had been appointed as the Vacation Judge to attend to urgent criminal matters and civil motions throughout the state.

Such matters or motions which must be urgent, according to him, would be entertained by leave of the court through an application by both parties.
