An advocate of good governance, Comrade Adebayo Kehinde has counseled the people of Kabba/Bunu local government area of Kogi state on the need to vote massively for the candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

In his message to the people of Kabba/Bunu LGA ahead of November 16th election, Adebayo called on the electorate to show their grievances with the current administration for deliberately excluding Kabba/Bunu LGA from its developmental plan by voting massively for PDP.

“Kabba/Bunu electorate have no reason to vote for APC in the forthcoming gubernatorial election, because from the inception of this administration till date, there is no meaningful project that can be pointed to in our local government. This is unacceptable to us as people of the area.

“Our roads have been left unattended to. Offere/ Ihale-Taki, Suku-Ike, Appe-Igori road and Kabba-Okedayo roads, all in Kabba/Bunu LGA, have become dilapidated. The current situations of Ayede-Olle and Kabba township road have become something to worry about. Despite the huge revenue that the present government is generating on a daily basis from our natural resources, we are still left out totally in terms of developmental projects.

“It is sad to know that we’ve been living as aliens in our land as activities of herdsmen have become a nightmare and dilemma to our poor farmers. We no longer have right or peace to farm on our own land. Our farmers have turned prey to the herdsmen without any sympathy from the APC-led government as they have turned deaf ears and blind eyes to the sufferings of our farmers and the people of our local government. Our kinsmen have lost their lives in the hands of these monsters and the present administration has not seen it as something of concern.

“It is something of serious concern for us as people that over forty communities that make-up Bunu district have no single police station and can’t even access police service except they travel down to Kabba town. This negligence from the present government has made our villagers more vulnerable to security threats than ever before. You can just imagine a citizen under attack in Ike or Taki-Bunu would have to travel to Kabba which is about two to three hours drive before he/she can report the situation.

“Our parents have been technically relieved from government payroll in the name of unending screening in the state. Our pensioners were declared ghost workers after 35 years of meritorious service to the state. Students keep dropping out from schools on a daily basis as their parents could not afford to pay their school fees as at when due. Three square meals became a thing of history.

“We have to come out and vote massively for PDP in order to restore our lost glory because we cannot just continue like this. Considering the antecedents of PDP in our local government, bringing back our lost glory is possible. WADA/ARO are sure to restore our lost glory,” he said.
