Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the November election in Kogi state, Engineer Musa Wada has assured civil servants of a better deal under his administration.

Wada gave the assurance on Thursday during his campaign tour of Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro local government areas of the state.

He promised to review the last screening exercise embarked upon by the current administration. He bemoaned the pitiable situation pensioners, local and state government workers have found themselves in the last three and half years after the endless staff verification exercise.

Wada pledged to right the wrongs in the civil service by ensuring that no innocent worker is unjustly screened out of service.

He deplored the state of township roads in Omala local government with emphasis on Ankpa-Abejukolo road, promising to re-construct the roads when elected as governor.

Engineer Wada promised to revive the development template initiated by the previous PDP administration of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris so as to compete with the present realities.

He mocked the present administration in the state for embarking on ‘window dressing’ development rather than genuine efforts that will transform the lives of the people.

While in Olamaboro, Engineer Musa Wada said he is not unaware of the peculiar problems of the people as it affects the civil servants at the state and local government levels as well as pensioners.

According to PDP candidate, the people of the area should not be deceived by the current political aberration that brought about the area producing the deputy governor.

He urged the people of Olamaboro to continue to support PDP manifesto and jettison the new political sheriffs in town who are known for coercion and violence to achieve high political pedestal.

Wada commended the people of Olamaboro for trooping out enmasse despite threats from supporters of All Progressives Congress (APC) who threatened to unleash mayhem on anyone who come out to welcome the PDP campaign.

In Ankpa, Engineer Musa Wada described the ancient town as his second home, saying the large turnout of party supporters, well wishers and loyalists gave credence to his envisaged victory in November election.

He urged the people not to be discouraged by politics of hooliganism introduced by some political ‘gate crashers’. He stated that he is confident that the people of the area will resist the anti-people movement by some unknown political gladiators.

He expressed shock at the deteriorated state of socio-economic infrastructures in the town.

“Don’t be deceived by the ongoing channelisation and erosion control in Dekina town. The project was earmarked by the previous PDP administration through UN Habitat and in conjunction with ecological office,” he said.

He promised to embark on social and infrastructural development of the area so as to reduce myriads of problems in the area to the barest minimum.

“Remain focused in your support for PDP and be ready to protect your votes on November 16 as the unpopular government has no other option than to rig the election.”
