Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole has expressed confidence that Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy, Chief Edward David Onoja will be victorious at the Supreme Court.
Kolawole disclosed this to journalists in Abuja on Tuesday shortly after the conclusion of the hearing and the cases adjourned to Monday 31st, August for judgment.
According to him, the issues canvassed by the petitioners are not issues that call for worries, noting that the lower courts have done justice to those cases which to the best of his knowledge the appellate court will affirm come next week.
He noted with nostalgia the popularity of the All Progressive Congress in the state, stressing that the petitioners are only using the cases to distraction the administration.
He further said the recent assent of Governor Yahaya Bello on the bill for a law to establish the Confluence University for Science and Technology, Osara, Kogi State passed by the assembly is one of the legacy projects that will go a long way to transform the state in the world of technology.

He commended the jurists for upholding the position of the lower courts in dismissing the appeal of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP) over unlawful exclusion by the INEC, stressing that the court is not a confusing agent that will be granting such frivolous request to cancel such a successful election.
It will be recalled that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) had approached the appellate court for redress after their cases were dismissed for lack of merit in the lower courts.
