One persuasive reason Nigeria cannot rise beyond the contemporary phase is, we don’t have anti-government with genuine front and focus. What we have instead are some attention seeking folks whose crush for material inducement are immeasurable.
What is Oto-ge looking for in the opposition PDP (Kogi state chapter) amidst dejections brought upon the people by the government in power? Can’t Oto-ge see the wall of Bailing in Lugard House? Why must it be the party that is hell-bent on restoring orderliness instead of waging war against the dictators at the helm of affairs? And if I am permitted to ask further, what is Oto-ge’s undertakings in Nigeria Democracy considering its newest move? To deepen it or to constrict it?
For Kwara and what it achieved there, we can understand. At least, the mentality that some people can wake up every morning and decide who gets what has been altered. But the prevailing mission against opposition that is set to curb colonialism in Kogi state portends Oto-ge is seeking National attentions through an aftermath democratic devouring process.
Don’t mis-attribute this, I am not speaking for the former governor Ibrahim Idris or presumably, his current political drive. As a matter of fact, the ongoing disproportions that may likely impose his arrogant son on us will only amount to a grand theft of democracy. We will not condone that. But whether or not you like it, Ibro is a statesman in the entire political dealings. Although, his flaws were obvious as state governor, but with the existing incompetent elements, Ibro’s name was written in gold, and especially, if Yahaya Bello’s three wasted years is appraised, you can prove me wrong if I have sounded fallacious.
So, in a situation like this, the best a statesman can do is to ensure that the legacies he left behind don’t go drained by ensuring a record breaking structures. This is what Ibro is up to. And in case you may be wondering why he seems imposing his son, my brother, interests remain a persisting syndrome in Nigeria political settings, and the last time I checked, Ibro is a full-blooded Nigeria politician. Thank God he denied the allegation publicly, unlike the Yahaya Bello’s APC kogi that wails in every given opportunity over allegations.
Again, Oto ge should define its agenda in the National political cycle, and precisely Kogi state with regards to the purported move against opposition.
Despite the high rate of unemployment, dented health care, crippled Education and a lifeless economy in Kogi state, Oto-ge chose tirade against a harmless opposition. It never sees the lingering insecurity in the state. The plight of the helpless civil servants has not gotten to its political ears. The prevailing shenanigan that will eventually put Kogi state up for sale via ridiculous loan has no meaning to it. Even the pyrrhic gun point victory in the last election (which is the techniques they still leverage) does not enumerate worries to Oto-ge. What is aptly paramount is politicking- shame!
Oto-ge has again cleared every doubt that it has no progressive agenda. And right now, I don’t know where we are heading to as society if a commoner cannot have a say in virtually everything. Our supposed defenders are now fanny-lickers. They have joined the enemy within, jeering public discourse.
Oh God! arise for your people.
If Oto-ge must go on in Kogi state, the present agenda is out of context because, in every sense, I think PDP is preferable to the ruling party’s three years’ experience. The earlier that is understood the better for Oto-ge. Better still, it can remain in Kwara where the world had applauded its efforts.
Whatever Oto-ge feels it’s wrong with the opposition should be less important. Oto-ge’s priority should be the ongoing sacred struggles to remove Bello and his cahoots from power. Its glory in Kogi state certainly revolves around this.
Oto-ge should understand that, Ibrahim Idris in not the only person in the party. PDP itself is not in factions, and even though I will not deny that certain decision has to be taken, whatever is going on now is a move to liberate Kogi state from political vampires and hooligans currently occupying the Lugard House.
Oto-ge should join in the liberation movement or remain in Kwara where it successfully killed Saraki’s political career instead of allowing itself to be instigated maliciously against any party or individuals.
I rest my case.
