The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has assured Kogites of its commitment to pilot a functional and people oriented Local Government system when elected back into office.
The PDP candidate in the November 16 governorship election, Engr. Musa Wada disclosed this while meeting with the Association of Local Government Volunteers’ Group.
He described current local government administrators in the state as “mere figure heads” who cannot account for allocations coming into the councils.
“It is on record that no LG Administrator can account for grants, allocation and expenditures so far, as they are merely figure heads and never in charge of the activities of their constituency.
“We are bringing a new lease of life to all dead parts and sectors of Kogi State. PDP has the feat of being the only party that has conducted elections for Local Government administration in Kogi state. We will repeat that history.
“My administration will be grassroot based, hence capable hands must be elected to serve as an intermediary between the State government and the electorates.
“We will ensure accountability, and the delivery of government driven dividends in all the 3 senatorial districts of Kogi State,” he said.
