A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kogi state, Engr. Edward Meseko has vowed to spend money and energy to support people’s choice in the upcoming Kogi State gubernatorial election scheduled to hold on November 16.
Meseko disclosed this in Ilorin on Thursday while speaking to journalists on his preparation to lead his people in the right direction.
The APC chieftain noted, however, that he does not have preferred candidate for the election, but would be ready to support the people’s choice in any capacity.
Meseko, who was an aspirant of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for Yagba Federal Constituency seat in the 2019 House of Representatives election, explained that his people will determine an aspirant to work with.
“Yagba people are my torch light. Whichever candidate they want, I will support them morally and financially. They know what is good for them so I will not impose or force any candidate on them.
“Their wish is my command. Let them decide what they want and I will follow them. Kogi is our Jerusalem, we cannot watch it collapse,” he said.
Some APC stakeholders, party delegates from Yagba Federal Constituency on Thursday storm Ilorin to visit Meseko on direction to toe during the upcoming August 29 APC governorship primary election.
The chieftain expressed shock over the massive turn out as all the delegates from the 34 wards from Yagba Federal Constituency were present at the Fancourt Hotel, Ilorin venue of the meeting.
He advised the delegates to make their choice, not be swayed by money and not to bow to any form of pressure and harassment of any kind.
Meseko warned them not to trade their future because of money but select who they think is best for the state.
He assured the delegates that the conduct of the primaries will be free and fair and not a kangaroo election as it has being in in the past, saying he has confidence in the National Working Committee (NWC) of the ruling party.
