Governorship candidate of Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria (GDPN) in the November 16 election in Kogi state, Dele Bello-Williams has berated the current government in the state for failing in every metric of human development.

In a press signed by his campaign manager and spokesman, Steve Nwafor, the governorship candidate said he will not step down for any candidate in the governorship contest.

Bello-Willaims stated that the two main political parties that have governed the state have so far failed to secure a sustainable future for the people of Kogi.

“The Grassroots Development Party of Nigeria (GDPN) wishes to state categorically that its candidate, Dele Bello-Williams has never, and will not be party to the charade of endorsements of the incumbent government in Kogi State. The incumbent government has failed on every metric of human and infrastructure development, and therefore, does not deserve endorsement for a second term of office.

“To further eliminate all doubts, the governorship candidate of the GDPN, Dele Bello-Williams has on several occasions renounced all forms of inducement to step down as a candidate in the forthcoming Kogi election.

“Dele Bello-Williams is certain that he will win the election fair and square, because Kogites are tired of decades of experience of visionless leadership under the APC and PDP.

“Furthermore, the governorship election is not just about politicking but, the candidates capacity and especially the future of the people of Kogi State. The two main political parties that have governed the state have so far, failed to secure a sustainable future for the people of Kogi.

“On our part, we are confident that after our first year in office, Kogi will start to feel like a safe and conducive environment to raise a family, study, do business and prosper. Our candidate also has strong backing of key stakeholders in the state to persevere to the end on our mission to turnaround the fortunes of our beloved State. As such, we dismiss any speculation that our candidate might have shelved his governorship plans. We therefore urge our supporters in Kogi to disregard the shameful antics of the political dinosaurs in the APC and PDP. GDPN remains the solution to the nation,” the statement read.
